2023 Kia Telluride Overview
The 2023 Kia Telluride is now available at Ken Ganley Kia Alliance to test-drive, purchase and lease. The Telluride continues to be the most popular and critically acclaimed midsize SUV, and the newest model makes the package even more compelling. It arrives with an exterior refresh and an increased maximum towing capacity, and all models now come with a larger and higher-resolution touch screen. In order to see what makes the Telluride so special, we’re going to compare the 2023 Kia Telluride vs 2023 Hyundai Palisade. This is a great comparison because the Palisade is almost as popular as the Telluride, and like Kia, Hyundai has a great reputation when it comes to ride comfort, amenities and technologies.

While these vehicles share the same platform and both have a 114.2-inch wheelbase, there are some minor differences. The Kia model has an 8.0-inch ground clearance and measures 196.9 inches in length—approximately 16.4 feet—whereas the Hyundai model has a 7.9-inch ground clearance and measures 196.7 inches. Note that the X-Line and X-Pro have improved ground clearance at 8.4 inches. Both automakers include 18-inch alloy wheels as standard equipment and offer 20-inch wheels as an option. Other notable options for both include roof rails, a hands-free liftgate and a tow hitch.
Interior - 2023 Kia Telluride in/near Alliance OH
The base packages for both models include a second-row bench and thus provide seating for up to eight. Starting with the up-level trims, second-row captain’s chairs are included, which reduces the seating capacity to seven. In most cases, the bench seat is available as a no-cost option. As you would expect, there a lot of similarities, such as headroom, second-row legroom and third-row legroom. There are, however, some notable differences due to the design approach each automaker took. Hyundai opted to provide more space to the front row and thus affords 44.1 inches of legroom and 18 cubic feet of dedicated cargo space. Kia has opted for 41.4 inches of front legroom and 21 cubes of cargo space. Since 41 inches is more than enough for most drivers, we prefer the latter approach.
Kia Telluride Mechanical specs
Comparing the 2023 Kia Telluride vs 2023 Hyundai Palisade reveals that the same exact powertrain is used in both models. The engine is a 3.8-liter V6 that makes 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. The V6 is paired with a shiftable eight-speed automatic transmission. That transmission sends power to the front wheels in the standard configuration, but all-wheel drive is available with all trim levels. Trailering equipment is available, but the 2023 Hyundai Palisade is limited to 5,000 pounds whereas you have the option of 5,500 pounds with the X-Line and X-Pro trim levels. Those models have other mechanical enhancements as well, such as a lifted suspension.

Both the new Telluride and the 2023 Hyundai Palisade feature 12.3-inch touch screens and all of the infotainment bells and whistles that consumers expect. The standard driver assists are practically the same between the two models, and both companies offer similar options, such as a surround-view camera, a blind-spot monitor and a head-up display.
Trim Levels - 2023 Kia Telluride dealer
The 2023 Kia Telluride continues the first Telluride generation introduced for the 2020 model year. Updates for the new model include an exterior refresh, a new 12.3-inch touch screen and an all-new digital instrument panel. Kia also introduces two new trim levels—X-Line and X-Pro—which brings the total number up to six: LX, S, EX, X-Line, SX and X-Pro. The 2023 Hyundai Palisade also continues a first generation that was introduced for the 2020 model year as well. For those that don’t know, it may come as a surprise that the Telluride and Palisade are so similar because they are based on the same platform. The new Palisade also gets a light exterior refresh. Hyundai has also added a new trim level—XRT—which brings the total options up to five: SE, SEL, XRT, Limited and Calligraphy. The XRT adds a sportier appearance package whereas the X-Line and X-Pro are more off-road-oriented models.
